Maple producers look forward to hosting fellow fans of our "liquid gold" this season, and we're not alone in our excitement. Jennifer A. Kingson at The New York Times wrote a wonderful feature titled, "It’s Maple Syrup Season: Here’s Where the Sugar Shacks Are," and we are honored to be included in her overview of Ohio Maple Madness March 7 to 8 and March 14 to 15!
Specific to Butternut Maple Farm, Jennifer writes, "A tour booklet describes the experiences at each farm. At Butternut Maple Farm of Burton, an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast and a barbecue lunch are served in the sugarhouse, which sells organic syrup and has an Airbnb on its second floor."
On behalf of the Ohio Maple Producers Association, Jen Freeman adds, “A lot of people don’t even realize maple is made in Ohio, but there is a considerable amount. Way back in the 1800s, Ohio used to be the No. 1 state.”
Check out the full article here, and join us in March to see what all the excitement is about!
